The Federation ships lashed out at the Borg Cubes. Aboard the Sovereign-class Enterprise-E Captain Picard furrowed his brow. Earth stood behind all of Starfleet as they desperately attempted to defend the planet from the Borg. Mangled hulls of starships lay scattered about space, some still glowing with fire and residual energy.
“Sir, they are adapting to our pulse antimatter diversion frequency inverter,” Data said quickly and curtly.
“Hold course, Data.” Picard grimaced.
Hyperspace folded back in and the stars of real-space winked into existence. Fifteen Imperial Class Star Destroyers and an array of smaller Victory Class and Lancer Frigates slipped from hyperspace behind them. The battle raged on Grand Admiral Thrawn’s viewport. The tiny blue green planet hung lightly behind them, seemingly oblivious to them all. “Launch all fighters. Luuke,” he turned to his clone dark Jedi, “board the main human ship, and bring it under our control.”
Fighters spilled from the hanger bays of the Star Destroyers and turbolaser batteries began hurling energy into the fray. Three Borg cubes turned towards the new attackers but already fierce coherent energy was ripping through their hulls, their energy shields unable to adapt to the seemingly solid light. Soon Federation ships began suffering the same fate, bright green energy lashing out and through their saucer sections. They would quake slightly before erupting into a massive storm of fire, plasma, and engine nacelle.
Luuke’s custom TIE Defender drove down at the
Without a word he entered the bridge area, Data moved to intercept him. The force burned around him and the android was ripped to pieces by pure dark side energy. Luuke laughed, Troi got up to face him. He laughed again, kissing her passionately before sliding his blade into her stomach. Riker was slashed before he could even speak, and then there was only Luuke and Picard, the ship was his. With a dark, cold smile, lightning sprung from Luuke’s fingers and tore its way in and around Picard’s body.
The Imperial fleet was savaging the forces of the Star Trek universe. The Klingons had managed to arrive, only in time to watch their Birds of Prey burst into fiery balls, consumed by turbolasers and ion cannons. There seemed to be a sudden, brief pause in the battle as another ship erupted from hyperspace. Built from plans captured from an old imperial store house came, not a prototype, but a new, full fledged Death Star.
Its superlaser instantly charged and fired, obliterating the moon into asteroid fragments that began spiraling down towards the planet; the moon cities instantly destroyed. Federation, Borg, Klingon, and now even Romulan vessels floated aimlessly as nothing but wreckage as the star destroyers circled around the Death Star. It charged its superlaser again, and destroyed Earth. On the bridge of the Chimera, Thrawn smiled.
The door to the detention area on the Death Star exploded. John Crichton peeked his head out the doorway and smiled. Aeryn Suun and D’Argo quickly followed him as he left the detention area. D’Argo growled, “What is this, some kind of tremendous moon base?”
Crichton frowned, “This is no moon D’Argo; c’mon we have to find the reactor.”
The three ran through the giant space station, pulse weapons laying down storm troopers in their wake. Crichton laughed “You know, I honestly never thought it would be this easy.” Luuke suddenly appeared, saber drawn. He hurled Crichton against the wall with the force; D’Argo stood to face him. With a yell Crichton tackled Luuke, who, taken by surprise, slipped into one of the Death Star’s bottomless pits. “Haha!” Crichton laughed, “I knew one of those would come in handy!”
“What, the pit?” Aeryn looked at him like he was insane.
“Well it is how his father took out the big bad guy”
Aeryn just shook her head.
Within minutes the three were crammed into a small shuttle hurtling away as the Death Star’s reactor exploded. “Try and get Moya on the comms,” Crichton had a giant smirk on his face.
Thrawn looked darkly at the wreckage of his superweapon, they had never been his favorite creation. However they had their uses. Scorpius came up beside him. “I told you my friend, Crichton and his friends are never to be underestimated. If we are to defeat both the Scarans and the Yuuzhan Vong, we must have the wormhole knowledge he holds in his head.”
